I loved Adelice's strong character and I did like readin and about her once again. However, this book threw me for a loop. I was surprised to find that the plot that I was used to in the first book had completely and ironically altered. I did eventually adjust to this, but I was surprised for the first few chapters. This plot involves Adelice going on a missio. "How about a teen heroine WITHOUT a "love" triangle?" according to Shelley S. Rees. I am not a teenager--full disclosure--but I have one in my house, and I instruct and mentor college students seeking secondary English teaching certification, so I pay attention to young adult literature. (Also, I enjoy YA literature for its own sake.)I found the first book in this series compelling because the weave and looms and strands are such cool ideas, and the constant feeling of threat and claustrophobia made for an effective dystopia. .
