Handbook is not too handy I couldn't effectively use this as a study aid for the ITIL Foundations exam. It's literally a pocket-sized book, with print that was too small to comfortably read with my fifty-year-old eyes. There's certainly some useful material in there, but the format really gets in the way. OGC needs to re-do this in a size that's appropriate for study.. pgmr said Nothing but an outline. Lots of bucks for a tiny little book. I thought it would summarize the most important aspects of ITIL. Instead of choosing the big ideas and giving some explanation of them and showing how they work hand in hand, it covers just about every idea and writes a sentence or two about each one. It's like reading a glossary. Also, the words used to describe certain ITIL concepts are so similar that it is nearly impossible to identify the differences among them.I have to say, however, that the whole ITIL topic is boring to me and I read about it just to be informed since parts are being implemented at my job. I thought a handbo. Out of Date - get the 2011 revision L. J. Haworth This book does a lot of the hard work for anyone studying for the ITIL foundation exam - it condenses 5 huge publications into a handbook, with ticks against examinable bits, and crosses next to 'nice to know' paragraphs. HOWEVER - the syllabus has changed in 2011 with 5 new processes, several subtle changes and new definitions. If you are sitting a Foundation exam soon, make sure you buy the TSO's 2011 revision published (yesterday) on 31 January 2012. Hopefully Amazon will be stocking this soon.
