Five Stars Item as described. Thanks!. "Hits the mark" according to A Customer. Helps me feel there is hope. I particularly liked the coping ideas.
Specific case studies add a personal touch to the narrative. A multimodal treatment combining medication, counseling, time and behavior management, as well as an individualized educational plan for students is recommended. It seems to have been written for YAs who have not been fortunate enough to have been diagnosed at a young age. Throughout the book there are lists and charts to help ADD/ADHD people assess their own needs, accomplishments, relationships, and goals. The list for further reading is up to date, and includes Patricia Quinn and Judith Stern's Putting on the Brakes (Magination, 1991), an excellent book for younger children trying to cope. Overall, the positive tone, the ease of having ready-made charts for self-analysis, and the hope that pervades this title make it a valuable resource.Marilyn Fairbanks, East Junior High, Brockton, MACopyright 1996 Cahners Business Inform
