DESCRIPTION:
When he first catches sight of Ruby, she steals his heart, and he realizes he must claim this most bewitching jewel, but Ruby doesn’t want to be claimed. Mysterious forces threaten their burgeoning love, as the ancient Cornish festival of Allantide approaches.. Traveling for days, she finally arrives in the wild county of Cornwall, exhausted, and not entirely ready for what awaits her. Miss Ruby Massey only has one mission on her mind—to avoid becoming the wife of the lecherous man her mother wants her to marry. Taking his responsibilities as the guardian of his nieces seriously, he has forsaken his mistress and his wild times in London, and though his family seat is in Yorkshire, he has made his home in Cornwall, the ancestral lands of his mother’s family. Phineas Charles Trevelyan Trelawney Godolphin-Harrington, 3rd Duke of Camblesforth, is a recently reformed rake. Deciding to run away, she takes the position of governess to a wealthy gentleman’s two young nieces
Unintentionally Hilarious I. Zawilski Wow, where to start? All the elements are here - gentle lady runs away from an arranged marriage to become governess for a brooding and handsome duke. But the execution is awful. I don't just mean the grammar and anachronistic language. (I highly doubt that in the mid 1800's people talked about "hitting the shops" or something existing "from the get go.")Some books of this type have a lot of back and forth between the lovers, loving and hating each other by turns. While that can be sometimes annoyingly far-fetched, don't worry here: This book dispenses pretty much with all of that. Our duke fall. Editing was horrendous The only reason I finished it was because it was the only unread book on my iPad. There were random commas all over the place, misspelled words, inconsistent period grammar, etc. That doesn't even begin to touch the actual plot. Don't waste your time.. Kindle Customer said Ouch. There were so many problems with this book I will only point out the worst in order of degree: omissions in wording, improper and irrelevant use of punctuation (there must have been at least Ouch Kindle Customer There were so many problems with this book I will only point out the worst in order of degree: omissions in wording, improper and irrelevant use of punctuation (there must have been at least 4 or 5 unnecessary and confusing commas per page),erratic characterization, incessant repetition, dialogue totally out of keeping with the class and status of the characters, in other words, very amateurish and distracting writing.
