DESCRIPTION:
For the first time an author has covered the actions of a single Marine company in Vietnam and their 5+ year deployment. From beginning to end, the reader will discover the horror, boredom, and humor of America's most controversial war. For current information about Hotel Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines in Vietnam, visit hotel27vietnam.. The content of Loss of Innocence is the result of 15 years of official document research, taped interviews, and meetings with those who served within the company's ranks. The reader, veteran or non-veteran, will find meaning and new understanding about a war fought largely by those 18 to 21 years of age. This book is above all, history
"Great unit history" according to Paul Wilczenski. very good history of a certain unit in Vietnam. The book is very detailed on day to day life of the Marine grunt. I spent a year humping much of the same ground and this book rings true. History Book I am sure this book is factual but it was too dry to hold my interest. It is like reading a textbook. I prefer a book written from a more personal point of view.. "Too much and too little" according to Pen Name. Informative, but too many similar facts and not enuf character/story development. This meant the book is more suited for an historian whereas I was after an engrossing read which would bring the war back to life.
