The story is the begining of a collaboration between actress/singer Julie Andrews Edwards and daug. I have grown to HATE this book!!! I have read this book at least once a day for the past year. I HATE IT! My son loves it. He is 2.5 now, but dumpy was one of his first vocab words. This is not a modern book, but a slow paced family oriented view of life as it was/ought to be. Be prepared to be animated and read with lots of noises. The whole collection is full of them.
