DESCRIPTION:

Disappointing Photography, Print Quality and Jewelry Britt Le Bonzo This book is a disappointment. The photography isn't first rate and the color saturation is weak. It was printed in China on very glossy paper with a plastic texture. The books by Lois Sherr Dubin and Dexter Cirillo have far better jewelry, photography, and print quality. I was also puzzled by the examples of jewelry shown in the book. I've been collecting Native American jewelry since the 70's and wonder why Ms. Baxter didn't show more beautiful examples? Among the modern pieces - I've seen better and more interesting jewelry . a gem to own A good book to begin learning about Native American silverwork. wonderful pictures of older and newer style bracelets. Informative and written witha concept for teaching about time periods and overall effect of tourism on jewelry styles. I would recommend it as part of a library of information tohelp understand and identify Southwestern Indian bracelets.. "Another great effort by Paula and Barry." according to Kenneth Wolf. An excellent book with terrific photographs tightly focused on one area of Native American silver craft.
