and this was useful, but not exactly what I was looking for Carolina I used this book for my graduate thesis. I was looking for an analysis of clothes as language, and this was useful, but not exactly what I was looking for because Barthes focuses more on how language works when dealing with Fashion (especially Fashion publicat. "an important book but hard to read" according to Amazon Customer. I love fashion theory writings. I really do. And i know this is a seminal text in fashion theory. But man, oh man, is it a doozy! I'd give this book a 5 for the concepts, but a 1 for the ease of understanding. It is really hard to plough through - it is transl. "Five Stars" according to Brigid Breslin. Love it. Thrilled that I could add it to my fashion library
