"This isn't just about funny pictures of dogs" according to Ronald Russell. I got it for my mother, who is a big fan of the Wegman calendars. She found it interesting, even though it's not just about the dogs- there is a good deal of depth to the art, and the book conveys it. But don't expect a picture book analog of the calendars..
